This blue commemorative plaque records: The Barracks Built 1857. A depot and armoury for the Royal North Gloucestershire Militia (later 4th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment) and for the Cirencester Squadron, Royal Gloucestershire Hussars. Headquarters of Cirencester Home Guard during World War II Recorded plaque organisation: Cirencester Civic Society.
