This bronze commemorative plaque records: City of Exeter The first Exe Bridge had thirteen arches and was built on a weir by Walter Gervaise a past Mayor of Exeter A.D. 1250. The second Exe Bridge of three arches was completed 1778. The preset structure of a single span was completed 1905
