This bronze commemorative plaque records: The Market House This building was erected in 1772. In 1932 the original arcades were replaced by the present wings and the building reconditioned. On the 27th September 1932 it was reopened by the Mayor of Taunton, Councillor W.E. Maynard, J.P.
