This blue commemorative plaque records: Remains of Old Lime Kiln From the 16th to the late 19th C. limestone and coal were landed on many Devon beaches and burnt in kilns to produce lime for farmland. This kiln was built in 1801 to replace earlier kilns. Recorded plaque organisation: Otter Valley Association.
