This wood commemorative plaque records: Graham of Claverhouse made the 'Black Bull' at Moffat his Headquarters from 1683-1685. When he Held the King's Commission to suppress the Religious Rebels of the South West. His Ruthless Methods earned him the title of "Bloody Clavers" and these Troubled Years the name of (THE KILLING TIME)
