This blue commemorative plaque records: Whitmore Railway Station Booking Office. Once the main station for North Staffordshire on the Grand Junction Railway opened in 1837. On 29th June 1937 The Coronation engine, no.6220, recorded 114 mph north of Whitmore Recorded plaque organisation: Newcastle-under-Lyme Civic Society.
