This blue commemorative plaque records: Arthur Greenwood (1880-1954) Member of Parliament for Wakefield 1932-1954 and a Cabinet Member during World War II. As Chairman of the Cabinet Social Services Committee, he was instrumental in founding the National Health Service and the National Insurance Scheme Recorded plaque organisation: Wakefield Civic Society.
