This blue commemorative plaque records: Fawcett Street station (1853-1879) This drinking fountain marks the entrance to the former terminus of the Penshaw Branch Line. The Station closed to passengers when the Central Station opened. Recorded plaque organisation: York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway Co., Sunderland City Council.
