This black commemorative plaque records: Mount Lane School 1835 Mount Lane National and Sunday School was built on the initiative of the Rev. James Lee. Originally designed for monitorial teaching. Enlarged in 1892 to accommodate 500 pupils. Closed in 1957. Recorded plaque organisation: Drayton Civic Society.
