This blue commemorative plaque records: The Malt Hall at Lymington Community Centre was once a brewery. It also served as barracks with adjacent parade ground for a band of emigre French artillery commanded by Col. Rothalier in 1795. The troop attempted as unsuccessful invasion of France at Quiberon in Brittany. Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Club of Lymington.
