This blue commemorative plaque records: Lymington's first National School, St. Barbe's, was built here in 1835 /6, operating until 1994. With National Lottery, councils' and much voluntary support, it was refurbished during 1998/9 as the St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Club of Lymington.
