This black commemorative plaque records: Firestone Bay Artillery Tower. This small building formed part of a system of coastal defenses constructed upon "divers frontiers of the realme" during the reign of Henry VIII. 1509 - 1547 similar towers survive at Devils Point and Fishers Nose.
