This blue commemorative plaque records: Preston Railway Station. Designed by the architects Cooper and Tullis of Preston for the London and North Western and the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railways, the joint station was completed in 1880, replacing Preston's first station on the same site dating from 1838 with later additions. Listed Grade II.
