This blue commemorative plaque records: Bamlett's. This building was the last vestige of Adam Carlisle Bamlett's Agricultural Engineering Works founded on this site in 1860 and trading worldwide for over a century. The adjoining site was the terminus of the Leeds and Thirsk Railway opened 1848 closed in the 1960s Recorded plaque organisation: Thirsk Town Council.
