What is recorded here

This brass commemorative plaque records: On 31 December 1909, just beyond the lake to the south-east of this point, four mile from his home at Growell, Harry Ferguson of subsequent Ferguson System and tractor fame, successfully flew a powered aircraft of his own design and manufacture. He was the first Irishman and one of the first United Kingdom citizens to do this.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
