Grave yd. is a lost graveyard beside a buried church at the foot of Croghan Hill in County Offaly, where modern spoil heaps have smothered most marks of death and worship. Only low wall footings and one grave marker still break through the rubble, suggesting that people once tended this place before forgetting or indifference buried it again. The hill may have watched generations pass, yet human hands have since thrown away the shape of their own history.

Foundation levels of S wall with W return, E end of N end of E wall can still be seen, otherwise church is covered to varying degrees with mounds of recently deposited earth and rubble. No evidence now of graveyard, area now covered with spoil heaps (ITA Survey 1942; JKAS 1917 Vol. VIII,385). Located near the base of the S facing slope of Croghan Hill. Only the foundations of parts of the S wall with W return, E end of N wall and N end of E wall are clearly visible. Modern spoil heap covers the rest of the church with no graveyard visible. Reynolds (1977) describes the church as a rectangular building (dims. 8m N-S; 16m E-W) with only the wall footings surviving with no dressed or cut stone visible. Davies (1942) mentions the presence of a belfry on the W gable. The graveyard is a sub-rectangular area located to the S of the church with only one grave marker visible.
