Ogham stone (present location) in Unknown Townland

This is the present location of a rectangular stone (L 0.97m; 0.45m x 0.08m) of soft shale/clay slate, which formed the entrance jamb (CO107-060----) of a Man-made underground passage (CO107-038---) at Underhill, Co. Cork. Found with two other ogham stones (CO107-059--- and CO107-058---). The upper portion of this stone was crushed and shattered from the overlying lintel. The inscription, which is in fine knife-cuts, reads: MOESAC (O'Kelly and Shee 1968, 43; McManus 1997, 72-3, no. ix). (Power et al. 1992, no. 1044) Compiled by: Nora White Date of upload: 8 June 2016
