Knockshanawee is a ringfort where six ogham stones still mark an underground passage. This one, one point seven five metres tall, supported a lintel when the chamber was built. Its cuts spell VEQIKAMI MAQI LUGUNI, a name preserved in stone long after the people who chiselled it vanished.

This is the present location of one of six ogham stones found in a Man-made underground passage (CO072-078002-) in a ringfort (CO072-078001-) at Knockshanawee, Co Cork (see CO072-078004-). This stone (1.75m; 0.4m x 0.25m) stood upright in the Man-made underground passage supporting a lintel. Both Macalister (1945, 113, no. 113) and McManus (2004, 15-6, no. 5) gave the inscription as VEQIKAMI MAQI LUGUNI; Power (1932, no. 15) had a C for the K in the first word.
