Battle of the Standard is a major battle site with a checked map point.
The Battle of the Standard was fought in 1138 between the forces of King David I of Scotland and King Stephen of England, near Northallerton in North Yorkshire. The English won a decisive victory, halting Scottish advances and securing northern England, which helped stabilize Stephen's troubled reign during the Anarchy.
