Castle Hill Cross stands beside a wooded path in Filleigh, North Devon, where a medieval Latin cross was reset on a modern three-step pedestal during the 19th century. Its octagonal shaft rises through a repaired joint to an intact head, while the pedestal bears inscribed verses dated 1833. Local tradition says the cross formerly stood at Aller Cross, giving the stone a ghost of another road before it found this quiet, elevated place.
