Castle Hill is a Grade I registered park and garden in Filleigh, North Devon, where an early Neo-Palladian house stands behind a sham castle on the hill. Hugh Fortescue, 14th Baron Clinton, built the mansion in 1730 after consulting Lord Burlington, creating a rare grand-scale country house in Devon. The property survived a disastrous fire in 1934 and remains leased by Eleanor, Countess of Arran, keeping the Fortescue line alive since the fifteenth century.
