Fairlie Castle is a restored stone tower built by the Fairlies of that Ilk in the fifteenth century or 1521, perched on a rounded knoll above a steep glen in North Ayrshire. The family lived there with orchards, gardens, wine, barrelled meat and crowded chests before selling the barony to the Boyle family in the 1650s. Its narrow room may have echoed with children, servants and argument, while the last Fairlie watched the place leave his bloodline.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Fairlie Castle as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Fairlie Castle was built by the Fairlie family in the 14th century and is remembered as a significant example of a medieval tower house in Ayrshire, Scotland. It is associated with historical events including the Wars of Scottish Independence.
