Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Arran, Clachaig as Chambered Cairn (neolithic), Short Cist (bronze Age), Axe (stone)(neolithic), Bowl(s) (neolithic), Food Vessel (bronze Age), Knife (flint)(bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic chambered cairn with associated Bronze Age short cist and artefacts, dating to the 4th–2nd millennia BCE. The site is significant for its combination of Neolithic and Bronze Age remains, reflecting long-term ritual use of the landscape on the Isle of Arran.
