What is recorded here

Bawn In the later 17th century the castle (WX052-022----) and land of the Cheevers at Ballyhealy were granted to a Col. Bunbury, who reputedly took down two of four towers at the castle, presumably a bawn, and a third tower was removed in the early 19th century (Lewis 1837, vol. 2, 218; Anon. 1863, 319). There is no evidence of a bawn now. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload; 18 February, 2014
