A house is represented on the Down Survey (1656-8) barony map of Forth at the S end of Rathdowney (7) in a detatched portion of Ballybrennan parish, which is now Ford of Ling townland. According to the Book of Survey and Distribution (1660s) Jasper Synnott owned 64 acres at Rathdowne and Forde in 1640 (Simington 1953, 303). The precise location of this house is not known.
