What is recorded here

Marked as a circular field (diam. c. 40m) open to the SE on the 1839 and 1940 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a fairly level landscape. It was known locally in 1940 as a rath (OSFM) and is still visible as a slightly raised and dished grass-covered area (diam. 40m) defined by a slight scarp (H c. 0.4m) that is most discernible E-S-N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 21 October, 2013
