What is recorded here

A bridge at Bridgetown is listed in the index to the Civil Survey (1654-6) (Simington 1953, 163). The present bridge over the E-W stream is constructed of local stone and has four arches, the central two being larger than the side arches. There are cut-waters on the piers on the E or upstream side. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 14 October, 2013
