What is recorded here

Situated on a level landscape. The cropmark of a circular bivallate enclosure with a wide outer and narrow inner fosse is visible on aerial photographs (MM (42) 30-1; (43) 6-14) and on digital aerial photographs (WX047-057_1 to _ 11). The central area (diam. c. 30m) is defined by a very slight feature compared to the outer fosse feature (int. diam. c. 50m) that is very wide (Wth up to c. 10m). It is visible on the ground as a low relief raised and dished area (diam. c. 50m) that is probably an eroded ringfort with a large hut-site at the centre. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 11 October, 2013
