What is recorded here

TSituated towards the top of a slight S-N spur on the NW side of Forth Mountain. This is a rectangular grass and fern-covered area (dims 35m NW-SE; 27m NE-SW) defined by denuded earthen banks (Wth 5.2-8.3m; int. H c. 0.5m; ext. H 1.7-1.85m) on all sides except the SE and external flat bottomed moats (Wth of top 6-9.3m; Wth of base 2.8-4m; ext. D 2m). Each side is surrounded by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 5.5-6.5m; ext. H 0.8-1.4m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 27 May, 2013
