What is recorded here

Situated on a NW-facing slope overlooking the confluence of a NNE-SSW stream with the Corock River which here changes direction from W-E to N-S. A magnetic gradiometer survey (20R0129) over an extensive area identified four ring-ditches and an enclosure on land that was once part of the demesne of Coolcliffe House. This circular feature (diam. c. 11m) is defined by a single fosse with an entrance (Wth c. 2m) at SE, and was outside the demesne. (Nicholls 2020, 11 F 40, Figs 13, 26) See the attached view from Nicholls (2020, fig. 13) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 30 December 2020
