What is recorded here

Situated on a slight S facing slope. This was excavated (08E0627) in advance of the building of a Community Centre outside the W edge of Taghmon. The kiln was a bulbous, stone-lined, expansion (diam. 1.8m) at the N end of the flue while the S end was occupied by a fire-pit with some lining stones. Archaeological monitoring (08E0627 ext.) c. 40m to the SE uncovered extensive archaeological deposits, suggesting habitation (WX041-067002-), although this has yet to be tested (Tobin 2009, 2011). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 20 March, 2013
