According to John O’Donovan writing c. 1840 (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 2, 216 17) there was an oval mound ‘65 feet (c. 20m) in circumference, about 12 feet (c. 3.65m) in height at the highest part and about 8 feet (c. 2.4m) at the other end’ located c. 200 yards (c. 180m) W of the church (WX040-047----).
