Located on a slight N-facing slope. References to a castle at Priesthaggard date from 1570 when it was held by Walter Meyler of Duncormack (WX046-034001-). According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) William Sutton owned 120 acres at Price Haggard where there was a ruined castle (Simington 1953, 182, 193). Jeffrey (1979, 160 61) records the existence of vaulted chamber with an entrance of cut stone, murder hole and garderobe chute. It has been removed since the 1980s. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
