Sir Thomas Esmonde is said to have re-built the Ballytramon castle (WX037-009001-) with a brewhouse and bakery as well as an orchard (Jeffrey 1979, 97 8). The location of the brewery is not known, but it would probably have been close to the house.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
