Sixteen windmills are shown at Townparks in St. John’s parish on a 1772 map by Valency that is probably based on a lost Down Survey map (Hore 1900-11, vol. 5, 62). Two windmill stumps are depicted at a small green on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This one is towards the top of a N-facing slope at the NE edge of a small green. It is not visible at ground level. Windmill (WX037-061----) is c. 50m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 18 December, 2012
