An examination of the masonry of the NW wall (H c. 4m) in the yard at the rear of No. 113 North Main St. identified a number of building episodes. At ground level the ingoing of an embrasure and an adjacent corbel survive with an almost complete embrasure further to the W. These probably date from a late medieval building. Archaeological testing (06E0633) in the yard identified traces of a stone floor (D below the window 1m) of the house with stratified material beneath it. (Stafford 2006)
