What is recorded here

Marked on the 1839 and 1924 eds of the OS 6-inch map and described in gothic lettering as ‘Lady Well’ on both. It is located in a small NW-SE valley close to the headwaters of a small stream that is c. 1m to the S. It is a rock-cut pond (diam. c. 2.5m), now overgrown, at the foot of a cliff (H c. 3m) which rises over it to the NE. There is no evidence of veneration. Ringfort (WX036-020----) is c. 60m to the NE and Whitechurch church (WX036-021001-) is c. 270m to the NNE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 9 November, 2012
