Located at the W edge of a slight N-S ridge. There is a natural spring c. 100m W of the site of the parish church of Screen (WX033-008001-) and its graveyard (WX033-008002-). According to John O’Donovan, writing c. 1840, patterns were held at the well on 27th September until c. 1820 (O’Flanagan 1933a, vol. 1, 354).
