In December 1888 a workman disturbed a small cist in Misterin that contained grey ashes and two pygmy cups (Ffrench 1889-90) that are now in the National Museum of Ireland (Kavanagh 1977, 89-90). At the time it was recalled that a similar cist had been discovered in the same field c. 50 years previously. Fragments of an Enlarged Food Vessel Urn were found in a cist in 1931 in the same field according to newspaper reports (Irish Independent, 06/06/1931 and 08/06/1931; Irish Times, 08/06/1931), and the fragments are now in the National Museum of Ireland. The find spots are unknown now (Waddell 1990, 157), but Ffrench states that the 1888 discovery was close to a rectangular earthwork, probably the moated site at Tomgarrow (WX030-064----). If they were located close to each other they could constitute a flat cemetery.
