From: O’Mahony, A. (1987, 14, No. 2) On the left of the tombstone (WX029-013055-) attached to the N wall of the side-chapels on the S transept is the stone (Wth 0.67m; H `1.93m; T 0.15m) from the side of the same altar tomb. It also has a foliate cross and there are two iron rings. The inscription around the edge reads:
Hic iacet Johanes: white ... the right side of the stone is broken, the bottom line is indistinct G: - ecasis (?) - - - - -.... and the bottom left corner is broken off feliciter: peracto: ex: hac: vita: migravit 29: die: marcii: anno: dni: 1569: pro: cuius anima: orare: hec: legentes. magnopere. rogavit
(Here lies John White ---- happily accomplished, departed from this life on the 29th day of March in the year of Our Lord 1569. He has earnestly requested those reading this to pray for his soul.)
