What is recorded here

Marked as a small circular feature (diam. c. 15m) described as a graveyard on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and located on a slight S-facing slope. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims. 50m E–W; 47m N–S) defined by the remains of an earthen bank (Wth c. 5-6; H 0.2m) on all sides except the W where there is a field bank and S where the bank is almost completely removed. The remains of a rectangular building (int. dims. c. 11m x c. 4.5m) have disappeared since 1940s (SMR file). There is no record of burial. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 15 June, 2012
