What is recorded here

Located at the crest of the E-facing slope of a small N-S spur. The cropmark of a curved subrectangular or D-shaped enclosure (dims c. 72m NE-SW; c. 60m NW-SE) defined by a single fosse feature (Wth c. 2-3m) is visible only on Google Earth (14/07/2018). The perimeter is truncated by a NNW-SSE field bank at SW (L c. 42m) and there is an entrance (Wth c. 5m) at SE. A feature like a laneway (Wth c. 6-7m) defined by ditches on either side extends off to the N (L c. 100m) but it is represented as a field bank on the 1839and 1902 editions of the OS 6-inch map. It was first reported by Jean Charles Caillere. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 18 September 2019
