What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) a Castle, a mill, a weir on a small stream and 100 acres at Tomnemaghtiry, which is probably Toom townland, were owned by Edward Synnott in 1641 (Simington 1953, 268-9). The castle remains unlocated. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 6 June, 2012

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
