Situated at the crest of the S-facing slope of a broad E-W ridge. It is described in the 1940s as a square area (dims. c. 30m x 30m) defined by a fosse or moat (Wth c. 2m) on all sides except the N. It had a second outer fosse at the S (SMR file). It has been removed since the 1940s, and nothing is visible at ground level in pasture. (Barry 1977, 227, WX 112)
