What is recorded here

Situated on a SE-facing slope c. 80m NW of St. Evan's cathedral (WX015-003003-). Archaeological testing (03E0254) identified areas of activity over extensive parts of a development site (Sheehan 2006). Further work (04E0535) in Area C excavated a part of a hut site represented by a semi-circle of post-holes (diam. c. 7.5m) associated with traces of a slot-trench and burnt daub. A number of pits in the vicinity produced sherds of medieval pottery, but these need not be contemporary with the structure. A flat cemetery (WX015-003024-) was identified c. 15m to the E in Area B. (Kavanagh 2007) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 30 April, 2012
