What is recorded here

Situated on the W side of a N-S spur, which is on the S side of Slievegower Hill, c. 1km to the NNW. This is a slightly raised and overgrown subrectangular area (dims. 30m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by field banks at the N and E and scarps on the curved S (H 0.7m) side and the straight W (H 1.1m) side. There are traces of an external fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.3m) on the W side, but there is no evidence of an entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 12 April, 2012
