What is recorded here

Situated on the summit of a gravel ridge, but in a low-lying area. This is a raised oval, grass-covered area with some furze (dims. 31m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.7m at N; 1.3m at S; 2.2m at W and E). There is an entrance (Wth 6m) at N, but there is no visible fosse (ext. dims 40m N-S; 33.5m E-W). It is now removed by quarrying (OSI aerial photograph 2005). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 11 April, 2012
