What is recorded here

Situated on a NE-facing slope of a small E-W spur of the N-S ridge of Slieveboy Hill. Marked as a subcircular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. No feature is visible at ground level in pasture, but it is known locally as the site of a raheen. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 10 April, 2012
