What is recorded here

Situated on a slight N-S spur. Marked as a D-shaped embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 50m NE-SW; c. 35m NW-SE) called Raheenavullagh - the little rath on the hill - on the 1839 and 1925 eds of the OS 6-inch map. The enclosure is depicted as truncated at NW by a road bank. This is a subcircular, slightly dished, grass-covered area (dims. 27m NW-SE; 24m NE-SW). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Micahel Moore Date of upload/revision: 10 April, 2012
