What is recorded here

Two bullaun stones are kept under under the trees E of the N entrance avenue at Ballynestragh. One appears to be of quartz (dims. 0.75m x 0.5m; H 0.5m; diam. of basin 0.33m; D 0.22m) and is from Killinierin, which is the townland immediately to the N, while the other (WX007-001002-) is from Ballynestragh townland. (Esmonde 1899, 404-5) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 15 March 2012
